The Mesa Rica 700 site is now online via microwave link, as opposed to an analog RF link. The modification establishes a direct microwave data route between the Tucumcari site and Mesa Rica. This modification was done to provide full duplex audio to the link system, improve connectivity and uptime, and alleviate recurring interference (aptly named the “Train of the Apocalypse” by some users of the system) that was believed to originate on the analog FM radio link previously originating from the Logan 575 site.
Mesa Rica 700 was our last site linked in via analog FM; our system’s back-haul is now fully IP-based and full duplex.
A huge thanks to Russ WQJI810 for the hard work!
