A message from the admin team:
SWCRS Members:
We’re excited to share that several of our mountaintop systems will be placed into service in support of the Arizona Monster 300 ultramarathon, hosted by Destination Trail.
The following repeaters will be dedicated to race communications:
- Lemmon 650
- Pinal 675
- Tucson 600
The race runs from March 27 through April 3, and during this time these machines will support race coordination, safety, and logistical operations across the course.
What to Expect During This Period
To ensure smooth and reliable race communications, we ask all members to:
- Keep transmissions to important or priority traffic only
- Avoid casual QSOs or extended conversations
- Yield immediately to race-related traffic
Additionally:
- User commands will be disabled on these repeaters during the event.
- These machines will not participate in regular weekly nets while assigned to race support.
As the race progresses, some repeaters may be returned to normal operation prior to April 3 if they are no longer needed. We will provide updates as systems return to standard service.
Winlink Gateway Usage
The N7GMR Pinal and Lemmon Winlink gateways, provided by SWCRS, may also experience increased usage during this event as part of race communications support. We appreciate your patience if you encounter higher-than-normal traffic levels.
Thank You for Your Support
Events like the Arizona Monster 300 rely on dependable communications infrastructure, and we’re thrileld that the SWCRS can assist with participant safety and race operations. Your cooperation helps ensure the system performs when it matters most.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and flexibility during this time.
